Sixth month of pregnancy

Lung and brain progress
The baby’s respiratory system is developing. The lungs are developing and the formation of nostrils has also started. Brain development is still going on at a very good pace and the baby has started using the brain in some of the activities that the baby is doing inside the womb. Development of baby’s brain and lungs takes its own time and will become fully developed and functional by the end of the 8th month of pregnancy.
Eye, ear and taste
The baby is opening and closing eyes. By the end of the sixth month the eyebrows and eyelashes are fully developed. The retina of the eyes will be fully developed by the end of the sixth month of pregnancy. The ear is developing and a very important ear bone has started to form which will improve the baby’s hearing ability.

The baby is able to feel taste, touch, sound and light. So where the light is coming from, the baby is able to react accordingly. Whenever the mother exposes her stomach to high intensity light, the infant is able to cover its face with its hands.
The same thing applies to sounds coming from outside the womb. The baby may like or dislike it and the same applies to the food you eat. The baby has developed taste buds so whatever you are eating the baby may like or dislike and react accordingly.
The development of the spine, ligaments, muscles and joints is complete by now. The reproductive system is fully developed and in place. The baby’s muscles are growing and the baby has started moving. So this time you will feel the movements clearly, the baby may even give you a kick. As of now, the baby’s weight is around 600 grams and if we talk about length, the baby will be around 12 inches lengthy.
