Signs of Labour Pain

Begin several weeks prior to delivery and resemble brief and mild abdominal tightness/pain

False Labour Pain

Can begin several days prior to delivery. It has the sensation of a persistent dull ache in the lower back

Lower Back Pain 

Some women experience diarrhoea. This indicates that the body is getting ready to give birth

Diarrhoea

A sign that the cervix is expanding is this. It is a mucus and blood discharge that can be pinkish or brownish.

Show of blood

When the amniotic sac ruptures, the baby’s surrounding fluid is released. This clearly indicates that work has begun

Water breaking

Inform your midwife or doctor that you are experiencing early labor pain symptoms. They will be able to direct you in the right direction

What to do

Pain during labor can be frightening, but it’s important to remain calm and relaxed. Take deep breaths

Remain calm

You can time your contractions with a stopwatch. Take note of how far apart they are and how long they last

Track your contractions

Your hospital bag must include identification, your insurance card, and any medications you are taking.
